Prince William may ‘struggle to forgive Meghan Markle over way she treated Kate’

Prince William may struggle to forgive Meghan Markle over how she treated his wife Kate Middleton, according to reports.

The Duke of Cambridge, 38, is bitterly upset with his sister-in-law over how she publicly attacked Kate during the tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview, a senior royal insider has claimed.

In the CBS interview, which has been watched by over 17 million people since its first broadcast in March, Meghan, 39, accused the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, of making her cry in a row over floral girls’ dresses.

It was initially suggested that Kate was “left sobbing” amid a tense argument over flower girl dresses ahead of Meghan’s nuptials to Harry, 37.

However, during her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan has said “the reverse happened” and she was left crying a few days before her nuptials to Prince Harry

Claiming it would not be fair on Kate to go into details on what happened, Meghan simply stated there “wasn’t a confrontation” and an apology was made.

According to the Daily Mail, a source close to the Duke of Cambridge said while Kate may have forgiven Harry for what he said in the two-hour bombshell interview, Prince William may struggle to do the same with Meghan.

A senior royal insider said: “First and foremost, William cannot countenance the way Meghan has treated his wife.

“Kate attempted to try and help Meghan understand the responsibilities of royal life, but her efforts were constantly misinterpreted.

“But to name Kate so publicly during the Oprah interview as the person who made her cry was beyond the pale. Meghan would have been acutely aware that Kate is powerless to fight back.”

Harry and Meghan also accused The Firm of racism as a member of the royal family “expressed concerns” over how dark their son Archie’s skin tone would be.

Meghan also accused the institution of failing to support her when she felt suicidal while pregnant with her firstborn.

Prince William is said to have had reservations about the Duchess of Sussex from the beginning as he had reportedly warned his brother to not rush the relationship.

He was also said to be worried the former US TV star was more concerned about her own profile than the wider goals of the royal family.

It was also reported that the Queen had approved a decision banning Meghan from borrowing items from the Royal Collection which included jewels once worn by Princess Diana – a move Prince William supported.

William and Harry saw each other for the first time since the Oprah interview at their grandad Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17.

The two once-close brothers were seen chatting with Kate by their side once the service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, was over.

While there were reports of Harry hosting a “summit” at his UK home Frogmore Cottage for “clear-the-air” talks, others say it was just “small talk” as the duke flew back to the US almost immediately to be with his wife and son.

Meghan, who is heavily pregnant with the couple’s second child, didn’t attend the funeral on medical grounds.
